Adding The Startup Chime Back

Apple removed the start up chime on the USB-C era and beyond Macs. That warm friendly iconic sound can be added back with a simple terminal command

sudo nvram StartupMute=%00

Entering sudo at the start of the command, will ask for the administrators password to allow the command to run.

Switching the %00 to %01 turns the chime on and off.

%00 - Chime On

%01 - Chime Off
